CKV Gate Driver Basics
CKV CKVb1 CKVB2 Gate drive
CKV, CKVb1, and CKVB2 are terms commonly used in power electronics, particularly in the context of gate drivers for power semiconductor devices such as MOSFETs and IGBTs.
CKV (also known as the Charge Kaskode Voltage) is a voltage that is used to charge the gate of a power semiconductor device to turn it on. It is typically generated by a charge pump circuit within the gate driver IC.
CKVb1 (Charge Kaskode Voltage bias 1) is a voltage used to bias the internal circuitry of the gate driver IC that generates the CKV voltage.
CKVB2 (Charge Kaskode Voltage bias 2) is a voltage used to bias the high-side driver in a half-bridge configuration gate driver IC.
The gate driver IC is responsible for providing the necessary gate drive signals to the power semiconductor devices to switch them on and off. The CKV voltage is an important parameter in determining the turn-on and turn-off characteristics of the device, and its accuracy and stability are critical to the overall performance and reliability of the system. WHAT IS CKV ( CLOCK VERTICAL )SIGNAL?
Clock vertical signal is normally a square wave signal its contain high and low-level signals,
The high-level signal is the cut-in voltage of VGH voltage which is used to control the panel TFT.The low-level signal is the cut-in voltage of VGL voltage. which is also used to control the panel TFT.
CKV the signal name will differ from one board to another, sometimes while servicing we will get confused to identify the CKV signal.
what is a pair signal?
Pair signals mean after the level shifter section we will get the separate output like CKV 1 , CKVB 1 and STV 1. before entering to Gate Driver IC [ COF ] these three signals are synchronizing each other its called signal paring. depending on COF ic this pair will be increase or decrease. example single COF IC is available in scalar board single pair signal only available (ckv 1,ckvb 1, stv 1)
ckv is a positive pulse and ckvb is a generally negative pulse.
