Question Answer and Sony LCD TV Reset

SONY Bravia Reset Method

There are three different ways to reset your Android TV™. Depending on the issue you are experiencing, you may only need to perform Option A (Power Reset). If this doesn't resolve the issue, perform Option B (Factory Data Reset). If the issue still occurs, then perform Option C (Forced Factory Reset).

Option A: Power Reset

  1. Unplug the TV power cord from the wall outlet and wait one minute.

  2. Plug the power cord back in.

Option B: Factory Data Reset

IMPORTANT: Performing a factory data reset will remove all customer settings in the TV including apps, channels, and wireless network settings.

  1. On the supplied remote control, press the HOME button.

  2. Select Settings.

  3. Select Storage & reset.

  4. Select Factory data reset.

  5. Select Erase everything.

  6. Select Yes.

Option C: Forced Factory Reset

IMPORTANT:

  • Performing a forced factory reset will remove all customer settings in the TV including apps, channels, and wireless network settings.

  • If your TV has the Android™ 6.0 (Marshmallow) or Android 7.0 (Nougat) operating system, a forced factory reset resolves issues such as App errors, TV restarts by itself, or not responding to remote control commands.

  • A forced factory reset can only be done if the TV has been upgraded to the Android 6 OS.

  • If you can access the TV menu, perform a factory data reset instead.

  • This procedure may require two people.

  • Depending on which TV model you have, the location of the buttons will vary.

The number of the buttons on the back of your TV determines which reset steps you need to follow
